1- Ensure the proper exercise of the mountain guiding profession based on our statute and the principles of ethics.
2- Help improve the human and technical qualities of our guides, as well as promote mountain tourism
3- Cooperate to improve and stimulate education in the mountain guiding profession through the National School of Mountain Guides, which belongs to ASEGUIM, and ensure the professional knowledge is up to date.
4- Participate in any event necessary during any activity of search and rescue through National Mountain Rescue Team, a part of ASEGUIM.
5- Intervene on behalf of our guides in the event that their rights have been abused.
6- Protect the prestige of our noble profession.
7- Suggest laws and support our lawmakers in the creation of general norms that regulate our profession in Ecuador.
8- Promote a good environment for all of Ecuadorian guides to perform their duties.
9- Cooperate and recommend the development of a set of rules regarding the mountain guides rights and duties.
10- Act on behalf of our members’ professional rights
11- Coordinate with the Ministry of Tourism to emit a proper valid credential for our members to perform their profession.
12- Coordinate with the government to set a legal base for evaluation, minimal requisites and equipment for guides.
13- Create partnerships with other mountain associations in Ecuador and abroad.
14- Demand a fair remuneration for mountain guides.
15- Progress in the creation of new projects to improve the services available to members.
